Please enjoy my second post!

Hello there,

I haven't been able to blog because I have been surprisingly busy (haven't been busy in a while).

We went on a road trip to Edmonton (stopping in Calgary on the way home) to complete Brent's application for his UK working visa. The visa application has been sent off now and whatever is meant to be is meant to be regardless of getting approved or not! I've decided not to worry about it until we hear an answer. Then decide where we will live and what we will do!!

Here's Brent driving on the way to Edmonton. First time driving on icy roads and with snow!! Also poor Brent had to drive the whole way because my drivers licence card has expired.. I'm not sure why I didn't get a new one in Australia.

Here's a couple of pictures of the view we had from Fernie to Edmonton.
It was nice and peaceful out there.

Unfortunately I didn't capture any photo's of Edmonton or Calgary. I was too pre-occupied with organising Brent's visa and shopping! Oh well.. I did like Edmonton and Calgary just wish we were able to spend a little bit more time their and explore the hidden gems (the hire car didn't allow us to do that and had to be returned within a few days).

We returned to Fernie and started snowboarding again. I made the leap from the mighty moose to the Deer chair. My first time on the mountain hill (until now I had just been practising on the small hill).  When I got up their I couldn't believe how high up it was (I don't know if I will ever get used to the height). I had fallen over getting off the lift chair and then went very slowly down the hill (on my heel edge most of the way) but.. I made it. I will be going snowboarding again tomorrow to keep practising as I haven't yet mastered turning.

Today, I decided to take it easy. Went for a stroll around town. Here are some snaps I took along the way.

The main street of Fernie:

The view of the mountains around town never gets old.

A very cute looking city hall:

Small playground:

And ... Just because I love them ... some pictures of the houses around Fernie:

Doesn't snow just make everything look so pretty!!

Well, I am off now. I am going to plan my Christmas lunch menu, seeing as Christmas is in 3 days (when did Christmas happen) and my friends and I would like a yummy traditional lunch seeing as we are all away from our homes and families.

Some happy snaps of the trip so far

I wanted to share with you some of Canada.

Vancouver! Loved this city and would go back in a heart beat. It reminds me a lot of Melbourne.
There are a lot of homeless people in the city but Canadians are so kind to each other. I actually saw a lady approach a homeless man who was sleeping on the side walk, his blanket had come off his shoulders and it was very cold outside. She approached him and told him he needed to keep his blanket over himself because it was so cold out and then she tucked him in. Was such a sweet moment.

35c chicken wings, cant go wrong with that.

Stanley Park. Very beautiful. Enjoyed the walk until I had a very serious allergic reaction.

Me in a Vancouver hospital (bit scared to put this picture up because my face is swollen, yuck!). This photo was taken after about 5 hours after I had been admitted to hospital for an anaphylaxic reaction to something in Stanley park. It was a very scary experience as I swelled up very quickly. Still not sure what I am allergic too.. I carry an epi-pen now.

Brent at the front of Bon's after we had eaten breakfast. $3 for toast, hashbrown, bacon and eggs. Amazing!!

View of Banff from the mountain. That's the town below.

Downtown Banff.

Me walking on a frozen lake in Fernie. The people behind me are on ice-skates and playing hockey.

Snow outside my window in Fernie. Until coming to Canada I had never seen snow!!

Brent in snow which is almost up to his knees.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.
